Community Guidelines
Praize does not tolerate objectionable content or abusive people. We remove such content and the accounts that post it.
Effective date: 2026-05-16 Last updated: 2026-05-16
Our Vision
Praize is a sanctuary for prayer, praise, and spiritual reflection. These guidelines exist to protect that sacred space. We are building a modern monastery — quiet, structured, yet alive with connection. Every interaction should move people toward depth, not division.
Core Principles
1. This is a sanctuary, not a debate floor
Praize is for prayer, praise, and reflection — not theological arguments, denominational attacks, or aggressive proselytizing. Respectful theological reflection (Peace mode) is welcome. Attacking someone's faith tradition is not.
2. Prayers are sacred
When someone shares a prayer, they are being vulnerable. Treat every prayer — whether you agree with it or not — with the reverence it deserves. "Amen" is a spiritual agreement, not a social media like.
3. Protect others' privacy
Prayers naturally mention other people. Please:
- Use initials, first names only, or pseudonyms instead of full identifying details
- Never include someone else's phone number, email, address, or medical details
- Never post identifying information about minors without parental consent
- If our privacy filter flags your post, please review and edit — it's protecting the people you're praying for
4. Be authentic, not performative
Praize values depth over performance. Share genuinely. Don't use the platform to build a personal brand, promote products, or drive traffic elsewhere.
What's Not Allowed
Harmful content
- Hate speech, discrimination, or content targeting people based on race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or any other protected characteristic
- Threats, harassment, bullying, or intimidation
- Content encouraging, instructing, glorifying, coercing, or harassing someone toward self-harm or suicide. People may still pray about despair, grief, crisis, or suicidal thoughts; those posts should be met with compassion and may be routed to support or escalation.
- Graphic violence or sexually explicit content
- Content that glorifies or incites illegal activity
Deceptive behavior
- Impersonating another person or organization
- Creating fake accounts or using automated tools to manipulate the platform
- Spreading deliberate misinformation presented as fact
- Spam, including repetitive posting, irrelevant content, or commercial solicitation
Privacy violations
- Posting others' personal or sensitive information without their awareness (doxxing)
- Sharing private conversations, audio intercessions, or group content outside its intended audience
- Screenshotting or redistributing private prayers without the author's consent
Platform misuse
- Attempting to bypass moderation, safety controls, or rate limits
- Exploiting bugs or vulnerabilities (please report them to security@praize.faith instead)
- Using Praize to recruit for organizations, political campaigns, or commercial purposes
- Uploading malware or attempting to compromise the service
Audio and Voice Content
Voice prayers carry special weight and intimacy. The same rules apply to audio as to text:
- Audio intercessions sent privately may not be shared publicly without the speaker's consent
- Voice content is subject to automated safety checks, especially during your first 14 days
- Transcripts are auto-generated and may be inaccurate — you can review and edit them
Groups and Vigils
- Group administrators are responsible for maintaining a safe environment within their groups
- Content shared in groups is visible to group members — respect that boundary
- Vigil hosts manage participation and may remove disruptive participants
- Group and vigil content should follow the same guidelines as public content
Reader and Pulse Boundaries
Reader is an AI-mediated communal margin, not a public debate thread. Reader inputs are constrained to Ask, Pray from this, Reflect, and Save. We do not support public reply chains under verses, denominational pile-ons, or theological correction as a first-class interaction. Questions may be clustered and generalized before appearing on public surfaces.
Pulse is for live prayer needs and timely intercession. Do not publicly share private intercessions or expose third-party personal data. Use privacy-preserving references when praying for someone else.
How We Enforce These Guidelines
Detection
We use a combination of:
- Automated safety checks (privacy filter for PII, spam detection)
- User reports
- Human moderation review for flagged content
New user safety period
During your first 14 days, we apply additional safety checks to protect the community. This is standard practice and applies to everyone equally.
Actions we may take
Depending on severity and context:
- Warning: A prompt to edit content that may violate guidelines
- Content removal: Removing content that violates guidelines
- Feature restriction: Temporarily limiting posting, audio, or group features
- Account suspension: Temporary suspension for repeated or serious violations
- Account termination: Permanent removal for severe violations or patterns of abuse
Transparency
- We aim to explain why action was taken (a "statement of reasons")
- We provide an appeals process for all enforcement actions (see Reporting & Appeals)
- We publish an annual transparency report on moderation activity
Reporting Content
If you see content that violates these guidelines:
- Use the Report button on the content
- Select the reason that best describes the issue
- Add any additional context that helps us review
You can also email safety@praize.faith for urgent safety concerns.
We review all reports and respond as quickly as possible. Reports are confidential — we do not reveal who reported content.
For details on the reporting process and your right to appeal, see our Reporting & Appeals Policy.
A Note on Theological Diversity
Praize serves the global Church — all traditions, denominations, and expressions of faith. You will encounter prayers that reflect beliefs different from your own. That's by design.
- You may disagree with a prayer's theology
- You may not attack, belittle, or harass the person who posted it
- Peace mode (violet) is the space for thoughtful theological reflection
- "Receive" is the response for content that makes you stop and think — even if you don't fully agree
The goal is connection across the Body of Christ, not uniformity within it.
Moderators are not theological judges. They should protect theological diversity while enforcing rules against harassment, privacy violations, coercion, and illegal content. Doctrinal ambiguity should be escalated rather than treated as a policy violation by itself.

We may update these guidelines as our community grows. Material changes will be communicated via the app.
